The Happy Valley Sprint Tri was today, I was able to finish pretty well, 4th overall, 1st female, having the 2nd fastest female course time since the event started a few years back. It was exciting to race fast at the sprint distance for the second year. I convinced Matt Shanks to race the night before, saying how I was going to beat him, and so he decided to race, but I kind of wish I hadn't persuaded him to do so because then I would have placed third overall, haha.

I have another master's swim meet coming up at the end of the week, heading up to Ithaca, NY for some long course racing Saturday. Going to be competing in the 100, 200, 400, & 800 Freestyles with a 50 fly thrown in there to see what I can do! Was able to do a time trial 1500 LCM at the nat the other day for the first time ever and went a 19:34. I've been able to get some quality swimming in with my new Finis equipment, love the swim suit and new goggles I have and I'm finally using my snorkel without feeling like I'm going to drown on my turns. We're making a trip out to a quarry to do some open water swimming again this week, was there for the first time last week, long drive so Matt Shanks and I are biking out this time! I miss open water swimming and I'm hoping to get a few more trips in to the quarry before I head down to Virginia for the next chapter of my life, maybe I'll be able to find some sweet water spots down there to practice in before Steelhead and Nations Tri. Back to training for the next few days for these next races, taking my ASEA daily to help me recover and feel great between workouts. Check out Dox-Shots and try out their product if you're interested in getting quality workouts in without feeling drained.
